We are going to publish a studentfilmmakers magazine!

We want to here your Ideas, find those of you that are interested in re writing some of your posts for the magazine and get your input. We need PROS and Students of all Ages so don't think you are not in. if you are a filmmaker you are in.

Those of you that are posting well written pieces might be selected to do a rewrite of one o your posts and let up publish it. Please let me know if you are up for it in advance. I know some of you are very busy and we don’t want to ask you to do something that you would not have the time for. Many of you write so prolifically that it will not take much to rewrite and you could be in the magazine!

If you are working on a film let me know. We might want to write a piece and get some photos do something on it. We are interesting in filmmakers input from all over the world.

Do you have pictures of your sets or front line shooting?

Is your company or school doing something hot?


The first issue goal we want to hit hard is on March it goes to print and we debut it at NAB in Las Vegas. If you are interested let me know here or pm me, e-mail me and or call me.

Would love to be a writer for the mag! Let me know how I can help. My production blog is a probably a decent sample of my writing (though i tend not to proof read!).

My mid January, I'll be done with my shoot and plan to write a lot more on the site about how things went. Things are a blur right now with costumes, props, and rehearsals taking up all of my free time!

Yes, we have one. David Mullen, ASC has a column. It is all ready to go. I wonder if I should tease you a little by telling you the title of the first one?

Students of All Levels

Students of All Levels

We have people who are pros that are learning about new techniques, tools and software. We want to have a high level magazine but also have something for the very new filmmakers. I am open to all content from all levels and ages. If you have something to submit please PM me. We are very interested in the student who is still in any of the formal institutions and hope to have at least one feature on a student or from a student in each issue. And, we want to really reach for the highest newest cutting edge information for the high level filmmakers in the world with advanced articles.

you're probably being floored by interested contributors for the mag...Do you have a formal procedure for us wannabe-writers to be considered? Should we submit a writing sample? A topic we'd like to write about? Just trying to make it easier of you and us to make the mag awesome!

We are learning as we go on some things. I don't really have a formal route which is probably a big no no. Give me a few Ideas or pitch me something. For now just send me an e-mail or pm with your Ideas and what you can write about. I am looking for articles on all facets of filmmaking and the first issue is focused on HD.

We like awsome pictures with stories if possible and samples are good. Dead line for stories for the first issue is Feb 1st.

*** I really want to get an article that has video clips with it so we can have people come to the site and see examples online.
