pls help

Absolutely not! If you're using AVID then I cannot stress enough your need to stay as far away from ATI cards as possible. AVID hardly supports ATI cards and they aren't kidding when they say that... In fact, for most XPress versions of AVID the only ATI chipsets they test compatible with are laptops. You can risk it, but that's up to you. If you stick one in your system the chances of being unable to view any video from within AVID is pretty darn good... Believe me, I've been there. Though there is no guarantee that you won't be able to use an ATI card w/ AVID you might have to hunt around for a driver version that'll be compatible. Lately NVidia's drivers have been wonderful for maintaining compatibility with the editor. All-in-all you're much better off finding a good NVidia card and going with that than risking time and (potentially) money with an ATI card.

The funny part is that for a while they didn't support new nvidia cards either :).

But yes, avoid ATI if you plan to run Avid.

Nvidia's Quadro FX series (I think that's what they're called) are good. I think the FX1500 is a popular one. But they are not cheap!
