New Camera?

Not sure which camera to get. Definately looking at the panasonic hvx200, but what others compare besides the canon xl h1. P2 cards are expensive. Could afford a few dvcpro hd tapes. Do those tapes lower the quality? Whats the highest quality on mini dv i can get? Sony has mini dv hd tapes. Are they any good? Sorry bout all the questions, but its an expensive purchase and i want to make the best decision, long term and economical.

If anyones used the hvx200 for tape, how does it look?

if you have seen the DVX100 footage the HVX on tape is exactly the same so if you will be using it for tape you may as well save the money and buy a DVX100 in my opinion
