Hi Everyone,

Perhaps my past question was a little too vague. I'll make it better. How do you, as producers usually go about picking and choosing music composers for your projects? What are your current frustrations with this process? Or, if you could change 1 or 2 things about finding music for your films, what would it be?
Thanks again,

Shawn

Well, while networking, you meet people who play music and you listen to what they can do. If you like what your hear, ask them to provide a few songs for your film. Usually, musicians will love the idea of having their music be a part of a film. Also, there are musicians on myspace who offer certain deals (something like $10 per song) to create any genre of song for you. One name I can think of is "ThirdWordPublishing" on myspace. He can compose a song of any genre (without lyrics I'm pretty sure) to include into your film and you get the rights to the song and everything. I intend to use a combination of friends who play music and ThirdWordPublishing for my music needs in my upcoming film.
