Need Help!

Im struggleing to figure out the best way to go about doing a particular editing concept. Essentially, Im trying to clone a character on screen, I need to have two of the exact same person interacting in the same frame. I know alot of this comes with camera placement, anything anyone could tell me on how to go about doing this would be appreciated, particularly in regards to editing. Thanks alot.

It's not really an editing concept, its a special effect. SOOOO here's how you do it!

Get your self a copy of Combustion, or Adobe After Effect, and this is what you'll be doing.

You'll have 2 layers of video. One layer, you'll have the video of you walking or what ever... and then on the top layer, you'll have the camera still in that SAME place, you didn't move it or touch it, and then you'll have you doing what ever it is you want to have interact with your self. AND THEN this is the big one, you'll draw a mask over your top layer to cut off the image which is in the way of your bottom layer.

The end result is you doing stuff, and you're self interacting with your self.
