migrating from ppro 1 to ppro 2 in mid project..issues?

4/5 done with my rough cut in ppro 1.5 and just upgraded to ppro 2. should i expect any issues?

2nd question: my project folder and scratch disks are all on a dedicated SATA 2 drive (not c drive). Is that an optimized scenario? I have other dedicated drives that are IDE. should scratch drive be moved there?

Hi Mark,

No, I doubt you'd have any issues with the project update unless you have third party effects involved that haven't been updated for PPro 2 yet...that sort of thing.

Scratch disks...not as big a deal as it was 5 years ago...disk drives are much faster now. If you notice unusual slow performance, first check the disk fragmentation (as this is usually the case) and then move your scratch disk if that doesn't help.

I do purge the preview files from time to time on a long project as they accumulate...
