Microphones?

Hi guys,

I was just wandering if anyone knows of good cheap microphones. Does anyone think this one is any good, its a 'Black 600 Ohm Omni-directional Electret Condenser Microphone With Foam Windshield'? Any recommendations?

Personally, I would recommend spending a few extra bucks and getting an Audio Technica AT897 shotgun (around $250). It is a relatively low-cost yet professional grade mic, and will get you the audio that any project deserves. Going too cheap on a mic is pointless -- unless your goal is poor audio.

There are loads of low end mics to choose from and some are fairly good, I don't know what contributes to a good mic in post production but lower end mics are very diverse and most music producers will tell you that with the qualiy of some china made mics there is no financial excuse not to make good recordings.
