why do you want to convert to wmv? if you're using a mac, it would make more sense to use a native quicktime format.

So just to clarify, rip the DVD using Handbrake, and then convert using VisualHub.

This is for Mac.

As I know there is no freeware that can rip dvd to WMV, if you still like to use free way, you can use dvd shrink to copy dvd to vob files on pc, then use SUPER to convert them to WMV, they are both free, but the quality always can't be guaranteed

VisualHub is discontinued. You can extract with HandBrake. Convert to NTSC-DV for FCP editing with QuickTime Pro.
