Locations?

I am a new filmmaker getting ready to make my first shortfilm. i need to film in some certain locations (hospital, apartment, bar, etc.) and am wondering how exactly i should go about getting permission to shoot in those locations. should i just walk into a bar and ask the manager to let me shoot or what? any help would be great!

Yeah just ask these people if you can shoot in these locations. As for the hospital and the apartment. You'll prbably have to just make your on little hospital set in a bedroom at your house or something. The apartment you'd have to ask a particular person probably if you could shoot in their apartment , but if this is an interior shot you could do the samething that I just told you about the hospital. exterior of these places you probably don't even need to ask if it isn't a busy time.
