´Hi everybody,
I'm Linda, from Berlin, Germany. I'm a non-professional screenwriter with my own German screenwriter forum (http://drehbuchautorenforum.xobor.de/). Unfortunally, all my scripts are in German. But, if someone hers speaks enough German, and can translate it, I wouls be pleased to send him or her a copy of it. I'm over 60 years old, and I#m here to lern more to be professional. Please excuse my bad English, but this isn't my mother tongue.

What would you say are essential German films to watch?

That is hard to say. The Germans separated the films in "serious movies" and "entertainment movies". I do not make this decision. There are some recent productions that I consider noteworthy. So the Children / Youth Film "at eye level" (in German "Auf Augenhöhe"), which tells of a boy who is looking for his father, who turns out to be dwarfed. It's about tolerance in the film. Besides, he has written and directed by the creators of my screenwriter software.
Another great movie (from my perspective), is the film "Napola"; about a school in the Nazi period, showing how people were educated to soulless robots, follow the contradiction every command.
