How to fund a documentary

I want to make a Doc. and was wondering if anyone knew how to go about getting grants and other funding for production? Any help would be appreciated.

Try contacting organisations involved with whatever the documentary is about. If it helps promote something they do or shows support for something i believe in then they are likely to help financially.
