How to clean the camera head?

hi. i have a sony dv cam. my camera shows a message on the lcd. it says "clean the head"
i think it is about cassette deck head. but how can i clean that?

Just kidding, bad idea.

You can buy head cleaners, just like the ones you use for a VCR, but for MiniDv.

If that fails, isopropyl alcohol can be used to clean dirt from the heads, but I'm not sure of the details of how to do it safely.

To truly clean the head, you need to get in there with cleaning tools and stuff. The head cleaner cassets solve the problem temporarily, but all they really do is move the dirt around, rather than actually getting it out.

Im gonna bump this thread fr my sake. Anyone know any good techniques for cleaning headers aside from buying the miniDV header cleaner? I'm thinking of going in there with a Q-tip and rubbing alcohol.... bad idea? Thanks in advance.
