How do you get your movies seen?

For all of you people out there with an audience, how did you get your movies seen in the first place? Did you submit them to film festivals? Did you put them online? How can I get people to watch my movies? I put links up, but who wants to sit and watch a twenty minute long video while they'resurfing the web? It seems the only thing the internet is good for is Viral Video. Andy advice anyone can give me about getting my movies out there would be very much appreciated indeed.

one issue my be length. 20 minutes is long for a short. i think 10 minutes tops. 5 for internet. submit to festivals. submit to atomfilms.com. post on youtube. if it's good, people will see it.
