Having trouble composing at 28mm

Hey guys,

I've recently bought a Samyang 12mm F2 for my BMCC (MFT). This gives a focal length of roughly 28mm. I'm having real trouble framing and composing nice images this wide, as I'm used to a 50mm or longer lens. Not sure if it matters, but my frame guides are either 4:3 or 2.39:1. I've noticed that it's more difficult to compose 4:3 with this lens, and the wider frame (2.39) is a lot simpler. Does anybody have advice they can give me (other than practice :))?

Thanks :)

Hi Tom, welcome. My advice would be to get the lens you want but I am not a camera operator or cinematography. Maybe someone else has useful information.
