Hello All!
I am new to the student filmmaker forums, however, I've been subscribing to the magazine for a while now.
My partner and I made our first feature film in the Summer of 2005, a few months after we graduated film school. A few years later, our little horror film ended up achieving world wide distribution, direct to DVD, allowing us to recoup our budget (and even make some profit).
Though we were successful in our first effort, we found out that film school doesn't help you prepare for the business end of film making. We learned in the moment, and through hindsight, so with our second feature film, we decided to launch a development blog to help first time filmmakers navigate through the production and distribution process.
