FCPExpress and HDV

Anyone have experience using FCPExpress with HDV?

I saw a demo of the workflow using the Sony FX-1 camera into a Mac G5 (a pretty powerful one at that) and HDV seemed to really slow things down. However, I think it was mainly due to the limitations of the Hard drives!

Anyone with first hand experience? Does Final Cut Pro handle HDV yet?

Well, HDV has four times as many pixels as DV, and needs to decode up to fifteen frames every time you make a cut... so it's not surprising that it's a bit rough on the hardware!
