Euro Markets

I've recently become very interested in film production overseas. I've given thought to going to Europe (France or Italy) to work in film. What's the career outlook seem to be in France right now? How are they choosing projects and what are the major studios and films coming out this year? Is there a French Film Commission or organization I could get into contact with? I want to know everything.

Hi,

The film industry is not going so well here, and it's not easy to break in...

What job are you thinking of ? Neither your profile nor signature let us know what you do personnaly...

There's about 150 french films produced each years.

You don't have such production companies as "studios", like in US.

The companies are independant from the studios. There is a very few studios, and they are only providing a rented service.

Features are mostly shot on location. Adverts are filmed in studios, and a few features only are.

Here's a few links that might interest you (that I mostly found just googling). They are of major organizations.

Hey.
I know little (well, nothing really) about fance and italy. I myself live in Sweden, and I must say. To break in into the Swedish market is pretty hard.
But it also depend on who you are. If you done some work in the states (have a reel), speaks the languge and have the papers you need, you should be in good shape.
