Don't let anyone discourage you from doing what you love doing. Don't let anyone tell you it's too competitive, to hard or requires to much sacrifice. Your work is going to be a big part of your life. You can spend it doing things you don't want to do for 40 or 50 years or doing things you love doing. Years ago you had to be in with someone and follow the Hollywood regime to make it in the entertainment industry, and there were only two camera companies ( Arri and Panavision) Not anymore. People are making movies all around the world with big and small budgets and shot on a wide variety of affordable cameras including phones and not just for box office hits. The internet and new cameras have opened up the field to anyone with a creative capacity and a passion to tell stories. New studios are being built. New production companies are being started every day. Youtube, Netflix, Yahoo, Amazon, and many other streaming companies are demanding content. Don't let anyone bring you down and make you feel it's too hard, to political, or to competitive for any reason and again anyone. Tell your stories! Keep learning. Keep networking. And, be as tough as nails. Wear armor and carry a battle ax.
