DOF lens for Canon XL1s

Heyo everyone, new to the forums here. Im a Video Audio Production student receiving my degree in March 2010.

I've just ordered my first prosumer camcorder the canon XL1s. And I know already that I want to purchase a DOF lens. Does anyone have any experience with a DOF lens for the Canon Xl's? Any advice will help!
