is vegas harder to learn to use than say, windows moviemaker? also, what are the system requirements for vegas? my pc is a two or three years old, so could i still run vegas on it?
VEGAS is a totally different kettle of fish to Movie Maker. Movie Maker is aimed at people with absolutely no experience in video editing whatsoever. Vegas is aimed at semi-pro users. If you are only editing DV footage, your PC should do the trick. Most PCs built in the last four years can handle DV easily.
Vegas isn't the easiest program to learn as it's not that intuitive. Adobe Premiere Elements might be a better starting point - it's a good first program after Movie Maker - more powerful but easier and cheaper than it's bigger brother. Also, most movie editing programs share some similarity so learning one will help with the others.
