Greets to all indie filmmakers,

I'm new to these forums and seems like a fine filmmaker site, actually stumbled upon these forums by accident but glad I found it!

Worked on the production of an indie DV feature film called LAST EXIT, that was picked up for distribution and now it's released into retail stores in the US.

Shot very much guerilla style in just two weeks, with a film crew of two with a massive budget 1,500 dollars...it can be done...one reviewer called the movie:

"the best bang for a buck in cinema history"

Would like to introduce you to it, please find a trailer on the website:

http://www.lastexitproductions.dk/lastexit.html

It's quite a dark and gritty movie, so not everyones cup of tea for sure!

Any questions or feedback, be free to ask.

And best wishes with all your movies!

Sincerely,
Cat.

I was thourouhgly impressed with the trailer. The dynamics flowed very well and the pacing was excellent in this trailer, content was very selective so it seems like an intriguing movie. One issue I have and this is just me, is I wanted some kind of narrative text to break up the footage, the title slowly showing up was kinda tedious since I already knew what it was going to be but then again I want narratives everytime i put together a trailer.

All in all fantastic and the best of luck to you

Do you have any production pictures of the sets?

Do you have any production pictures of the sets?

What part or role did you play in making this movie?
What kind of editing software was used? Do you have any production pictures of the sets? What challenges did you face? Did you work with the Director and what was his style like? What things would you do different?

I really don't like to see films that are posted here in the promo distribustion phase without a little information and detials about the making of it and some participation in the forum other than posteing a link to a promotion website.

This site if for supporting aspiring filmmakers with a focus on education. Please contribute a little in this area along with your links to commercial distribution sites.

Truly
Kim

Dear Kim,

Of course!

I am producer,production-assistant, runner, prop-master etc and also generally help when possible.

Casting was done through local papers, local internet sites and word of mouth through friends we know from other short projects we done. If it's a good project usually there is no problems getting good actors in my experiences.

Budget we had none, so no cast or crew got paid, and worked for the experience and opportunity to work on a feature film witha an interesting characters.

We could not afford sets, so used our own appartments, and warehouses and the streets of Copenhagen (mainly the red light district)

Since I work very closely with the director, for low to no budget projects - its important to plan everything in advance and also keep cast and crew happy, feed them properly and make it an enjoyable experience no matter what. The style was a very relaxed and openly creative project.

But preparation and planning are so important and also lots of work with actors - we had 2 weeks rehearsals.

Editing was done with adobe premiere pro, shot with a digital camera that was bought off the shelf.

best,
Cat.

thanks danhosler!

very happy you liked the trailer...I always thought it was more of a teaser than just a trailer myself.

best,
Cat.

So it seems, feeding your crew and talent is one of the keys

So it seems, feeding your crew and talent is one of the keys

Based on what you told me in your private messsage, it seems, feeding and making sure your crew and talent are fed well is one of the keys to making a low budget film.

good job. I do think there is a problem we indie film makers do. Our trailers dont have a narrator....a narrator always brings the user closer to the action...

sticking to the project....the trailer was amazing (hell it had sex in it, that does the trick for me :D ) good job :)
