Color Pass Question...

My dilemma is this: I want to pretty much do the Schindler's List thing(just one red jacket, all else is b/w) but there are other red things in the shots. I've tried to use the garbage matte to cut around it, but it looks really crappy. Any suggestions?

The best suggestion is to re-shoot it with nothing else red in the shot . When we did a similar shot years ago that's exactly what we did, no red other than the blood we wanted to stay red in the finished shot.

Otherwise you are going to have to manually mask out anything else that's red. I'm guessing you'll need to use a more sophisticated program than Premiere to do it.

but don't forget: totally control the color you shot
