Color correction problem

I pay a lot of attention to my lighting during filming and when I'm capturing with firewire everything looks great. But when I take a clip and put it in the time line the colors are different, especially facial skin tones. Any suggestions? I'm using a Canon XL-2.

What are you looking at when you see the colors as "different".

Do the colors look different from the computer monitor to an outboard video monitor?

Pass along some details on your editing setup and exactly where you are seeing the difference please.
