Hey all,

So i videographed a wedding last weekend and I'm trying to bring up some of the dark footage in post, since a portion of the reception was shot at night. What is the best color correction tool to use to do this in Final Cut Pro?

Thanks!

Try using the FCPROs native color correction. You can also try Color although it's more complicated.

FCP's 3-Way Color Corrector. Bring up the luma slider in the Mids first. Only do as much as you can get away with. Brighten it up too much, and it'll be so grainy, it'll be unwatchable. Play with the Highs and Lows sliders, too, but the Mids slider is what you're looking for. Don't touch the color wheels.

Same goes for Color, but in Color, you'll get more sensitivity and better quality results. Catch: if you can't use FCP's 3-Way Color Corrector properly, the Color app won't do you any good.
