Call for Entries
Submissions Due Dates:
Between Friday April 23 and Sunday April 25, 2021 midnight
No cost to enter
Festival held on:
Saturday May 1st, 2021 5pm PT, online
You are invited to pick-up your phone and produce a 90-second movie.
Rules for this year:
1- Each entry must come from one individual as the auteur. You, the filmmaker, must shoot your movie entirely on one smart phone (one phone only for all visual source material of your entry - the jury can ask to see your phone files). So: one creator, one phone for each WAFL entry. All optical and mechanical accessories are acceptable. You may edit on any platform. You may use actors, production crew, musicians, lighting, special effects, audio cues and any other outside help or technology in the production of your movie.
2- This year the two required elements are: high heel and button. In the course of your movie’s narrative, the notion, image of, or reference to those two elements (together or separately) must be evident.
3- Your movie must be 90 seconds, no longer, no shorter.
o A front card for title and filmmaker’s name should be added at the front of the movie but cannot advance or impact the narrative.
o Credits for acting and production help can optionally be added at the end of the movie, should be no more than 20 seconds, and the credits cannot in any way impact the movie narrative.
