Bolex EBM Power Source

I've got a 16mm Bolex EBM which takes an internal 12v 1000 mAh battery, but I'd like something that last longer before needing recharge. Shelton Communication has a Bescor battery pack that he says will work with the EBM, but it delivers 12v 3.4 Ah.

1) Is there any risk delivering more amps to the camera then it's potentially made to handle?

2) Anyone on here using an EBM, and if so, how are you powering it?
