Black and White Video

Hi !

If you want to record B/W, it all depends on the camera you're using. Professional cameras usually allow to do this, but I think the best is to do it in post. It's very easy to set your monitor to B/W on the set (just turn the chroma off). Afterwards, you can do what you want, even end in color if ever the director changes his mind or for a tv release.

i agree...i think its much better to film in color and to convert to black and white in post. this way you have much more to work with and can use your editing program to youre advantage and give it a unique black and white look rather that just what your camera will produce.

Hey, I have to agree with ruthie and laurent. I honestly dont think in-camera effects should be used, here are my reasons.

1) It's just as easy to do in post (Often with better results)

2) Your stuck if you decide you dont like the effect, or want to use the footge in another project (Not b/w for example)

Thanks
