Assistant Camera Question

When taking measurements as an assistant and there is no hook for the tape measure on the camera, is it appropriate to ask the operator to hold the end of the tape measure while you bring it to the subject?

If there is no hook, make one during the camera tests. You can use Sticky Velcro, for instance, one part on the tape measure, one part on the camera body. Usually, there is a sign on it to show where to meter from. (it's an "O" with a vertical line on it).

But that's weird there is no hook on the one you're using... What camera is it, if I may ask ?

Don't bother the operator with this, just an advice.
