I'm a fan of horror films and I also collect really well known horror games as well.
The Evil Dead movies started in 1981 and ended with 1992's Army of Darkness, which was not that scary compared to the first two and especially the first, but it has a great plot and is more comedic. It kind of makes me think of Ray Harryhausen and how he did the stop motion effects for the skeletons in Jason and the Argonauts. Anyway, the franchise returned in recent months as an episodic series on the Starz network which I dig. The Mexican sidekicks of Ash are really cool. The episodes are roughly half an hour long, apart from the pilot.
The gore is very OTT which I like, and I don't know about having the remake's protagonist Mia and Ash meeting up like they suggested. Personally, I didn't think the remake that come out was anywhere as great as the main series, but it may work. I'm sure they are not meant to be connected.
