Hello and happy new year everyone
What I mean with the title is that, movies are awarded (with an Oscar, Cannes awarads, etc.) for being "good" in a particular field, right (whether it's the camerawork, the photography, the actors, etc.)? But does that make sense, as there are no clear, objective criteria as to what makes a movie a good movie or a movie that is better than another? What is a good actor after all? Isn't this all a matter of taste? And if it is all so subjective, why award movies at all?
