Does anyone know if there anyway to change the type of files from 3ds format to another

Will take anything i can do to change it

Oh! there's also google sketchup! you can get a free trial of the PRO version and then it will convert it for you.

It worked with sketch 7 pro but ran out of time i am actually turning this into anything that works in blender
