was shot on, e.g. film or digital, and if digital what camera, and if film what camera/stock? Thanks

if the producers/marketing reps thought to list it in the business section... IMDB (http://www.imdb.com) has that available... not too specific, but usually listed.

I never can seem to find that information at IMDB, it seems as most don't list that information. Thanks though DerekEastham

Whenever you want to find a database on a certain subject, you have to ask yourself who would spend the time to create and update such a site and for what motivation, and who pays for the time & labor.

In other words, there is no website devoted to collecting data on how movies are shot. How would all that data be collected? The closest is the IMDB under the "technical specs" link, but it is minimal and not always accurate either (which is the problem with an almost volunteer-run system...)

Your best bet for current movies are magazine articles in American Cinematographer, ICG Magazine, etc. but obviously only a few movies are covered per issue.
