Are you an African-American filmmaker seeking an outlet for your work? Do you have a great film/television project that is waiting to be discovered?


Shadowcast Entertainment and the BIMC want you to enter the 1st Annual Black Independent Film/Television Media Competition. There is no entry fee. We're accepting works from the following genres:

* Film
o Short films (<60 minutes in length)
o Documentaries
o Feature-length (Comedy, Action, Drama, Horror, Spiritual, GBLT)

* Television (<=60 minutes in length)
o Animation
o Comedy
o Drama
o Reality (scripted & non-scripted)
o Spiritual
o GBLT

Rules:
- All entrants shall retain all rights to their work. However, in entering the competition, you give Shadowcast Entertainment the right to display your work on the Roku BIMC or "Black Independent Media Channel," regardless of selection status.

- Entries must be received by July 31, 2011. Good advice: the earlier, the better!

- International entries are accepted; however, English subtitles and menus must be provided.

- No adult-oriented or explicit material can be accepted at this time.

- Entrants will not send originals of their work and shall not hold Shadowcast Entertainment, the BIMC Channel, or any of its affiliates responsible and/or liable for any lost and/or damaged material. Entries will not be returned. **All entrants must submit their work on standard definition NTSC DVD. No other format will be accepted**

- Shadowcast Entertainment shall retain sole rights in the selection/decision making process and cannot be influenced by third parties in any way. Shadowcast Entertainment shall also retain the option to decide if a winner is chosen if no entry merits a winning decision.

- All entries must have a budget of no more than $100,000 (US) and must originate from either a Black/African-American director and/or producer.

- The 1st competition shall extend from March 2011 - September 2011. Finalist and Semi-finalist shall be announced in August 2011. The winner shall be notified and announced in September of 2011.


- In addition to being featured on the BIMC, the winner gives permission to also have his/her winning entry exhibited on the Shadowcast Entertainment website (www.shadowcast-entertainment.com) either in whole, or portions thereof.

- Winners shall receive monies in U.S. dollars only.
