i agree...i think its much better to film in color and to convert to black and white in post. this way you have much more to work with and can use your editing program to youre advantage and give it a unique black and white look rather that just what your camera will produce.

I have also had problems when capturing in FCP 4.5 from a this camera. What capture settings are you using? Did you film with the 24p frame rate? My DP shot at 24p with the XL2 and this is where I had alot of issues with dropped frames. If you can answer these questions, I might be able to help...
