the only thingi picked up on was that your actor clocked the camera once or twice so you break the fourth wall, loosing the sort of magic if you will but apart from that it was cool for a first film
i am curently using pro tool for a project and it deals well with multiple audio layers. When i say multiple i mean like 70 at a time so its my preference
ok the one i am having most trouble with is this
A spiked small totem pole (like an artifact) gets pusshed through some one and they then pull it out leaving a rather large wound
the DVX100 isnt high def but it is still good quality.
The HVX is double the price but then you have to cnsider the P2 cards which are over £1000 each.
I work on DVX 100 and my mate works on HVX and if we both use Mini DV tapes for a live music event the quality is the same.

get an old school cap gun and get a drill and drill through the barell and fire it so the flash and smoke should be propelled down the barell. just dont stand your "target" to close

im studying at salford uni and imin my first year and i know other people on similar courses in first year and we ar bottom of the barrel so it looks and we all struggle to get equipment so it came in handy when we all had mini DV cameras so we could still shoot.

my mate made a dolly and track from some strong MDF a couple of metal angles like V frames and skate board wheels and used old small drainage pipe for the track and it worked really well.

i have used car headlights and they aint great.
for outdor night lighting try HSS hire shops and use a generator and building site lights. its relatively cheap to and works great however the generator can be quite loud.
However never use the generator indoors as its very dangerous
