3D Animation courses in Europe

What colleges/universities in Europe should I be looking at for 3D animation? I live in Ireland and I'll be going to college in a few years, preferably in a Germanic country. I've been practising 3d animation since I was like 12, wanting to be a 3d animator. I'm alright at rigging, modelling, texturing etc... but I'm not very good at traditional art. Out of all the courses I've been looking at, very few focus on 3D animation, or even the act of animation at all. I'm lost, so anyone who studied animation in Europe, what colleges did you go to? Was there a lot of emphasis on animation, or did you spend a lot of time looking at other facets of art (painting, sculpting, cinematography), were these useful to furthering your animation skills? Is there anything you found vital to a decent course that I should look for? Any tips for me to find the right course are fully welcome

If you're aiming for 3D animation in a Germanic country, definitely check out Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg (Germany) – their Animationinstitut is world-renowned and very focused on 3D/VFX. Also look into HTW Berlin and Hochschule Luzern (Switzerland), both with strong media/animation programs.

A lot of European courses do mix in traditional art, but that's often to help build foundational visual skills—even if you’re mostly focused on 3D. When researching, look for courses that have strong industry links, student showreels, and a curriculum that actually lists animation (not just design or general media).

Here are a few links:

I do not live in Germany and I do not personally know anyone who attended any of these universities, but I heard about them. :D I hope this helps you!

Thanks so much for the advice and directions, I'll definitely be looking into these!😁
