Hey All,
My name is Owen Patry, I am a professional Focus Puller with 10+ years of experience. I'm making an app for freelance filmmakers. It's called "LineItems" and it's a film freelancer admin suite. It tracks your jobs and relative due dates, expenses, invoices, and provides analytics on your income. It will help you keep all your admin work fast and efficient. And if you're new to the industry, it will teach you how to bill and what info is important to track.
When I was a student filmmaker just breaking into the industry, I didn't have anyone sit me down and teach me how to take care of all the admin work that's required in being a freelancer. It took me the better part of a decade to figure it out and keep track of it in such a way that made sense when it came to tax season. Not to mention, I also would often drop the ball on whether or not I had been paid from a job because I never knew when the payment was due and kind of just hoped that the producer would stick to their word and pay me...
