Just saw this last night.
Not bad...not bad at all.
But then again, I went in expecting the worst film ever. (thanks Colin)
Of course the Special effects were perfect...I mean really perfect.
The story was captivating, and the bad guys were really bad guys.
The hero was very unusual, with a strange sort of stupid bravery.
It seemed to take the best bits out of Starship Troopers, Close Encounters,The Blair Witch, The Office, Blood Diamond, and Transformers..and wrap them all into one gritty bloody ball.
Younger people will love this one.
The more mature viewer will be annoyed by the hand held camera and the lack of good clean fun.
Don't take the little ones, it's a bit too scary for them.

How did it look?

How did it look?

How did the shots look on District 9? Heard it was shot with a couple of RED Ones...

Very good.
Lighting was Harsh and high contrast.
I liked that, it's more real... like a bright summers day.
But remember, there was a digital alien in almost every shot, so the look of the thing would have been altered in post to a great degree.
I'm not shure how much of the look of the film was due to the RED One.
No problems with clarity as far as I could tell.
I would have to see Steven or George or Chris with one to tell how it compares to the Panaflex.
