Adding New Cameras/Decks

I'm having trouble with the Avid aknowledging that I have my Canon GL-2 hooked up, I even went out and bought a new capture card that is Avid approved but it still won't even say that there is a deck hooked up. Any suggestions?

here's a little tutorial on how to instal your Canon GL2 as a Deck on Avid.

1st open avid, and open up your Capture Tool.
2nd Click the button under the play button on the Capture Tool. It should say something about Generic Deck.
3rd click Adjust Deck.

In here name it what ever? doesnt really matter.. then Click the brand etc and set it up that way. Look for your camera. If it's not on there, well I cant really help you that much...

Thanks tha actually helped. Except that the camera wasnt on there which suprised me cause its fairly popular. But thanks the generic deck solved it and it instantly found it.

no prob. And probably the reason why they didnt put the GL2 on there was because the generic deck thing solves most deck problems.

I'm guessing the GL1 is a more finicky camera to get control over from firewire.
