where can i hold casting calls?

i'm making a low budget short and i need to find a place to hold auditions. the cheapest space i found was $10/hr, but i don't know if i can even afford that. any suggestions other than holding auditions in my apartment? or at a park?

Good lord, $10 is pretty cheap. Surely there is someway you can find an extra $100 bucks! Why don't you try contacting some of the smaller acting schools. Maybe in exchange for letting their students audition, they'll give you the space for the day. The instructor could even make a "How to Audition" class out of it. Try contacting the Los Angeles Filmmakers Alliance:


They are a nonprofit group that helps filmmakers. You'd have to join, I'm sure.

Please don't ask actors to come to a park.

what are some other options, as to where to hold auditions. Obviously, your house isn't a good place.... parks are no good either..... What is the norm that no budget people use around here? (i'm in the orange county area btw)
