What makes a winner?

Hi guys,

I was wondering; what makes a script a winner? for example in festivals like the Oscars, what criterias do they consider? is it story? format ? dialogue?

What are the main points that make a winner script?

a great story, fun or interesting situations, and characters that people can identify with and care about.

What about the tchnical part? like the format?

i m sure the format is important but not essential. Good software can manage the format but if your story is crap then the format is worthless.

Format should be a non-issue. You either do it or you don't.
