What is VR? Can you give an example?

Good day, Colton!
The definition of VR is "the computer-generated simulation of a three-dimensional image or environment that can be interacted with in a seemingly real or physical way by a person using special electronic equipment, such as a helmet with a screen inside or gloves fitted with sensors" (Oxford Languages). This technology can be used for entertainment purpose and for more serious purpose such as medicine or education.
On short, the Virtual Reality (VR) environment allows the user to enter a simulation and have an immersive experience.
For example, you can use the VR to watch an immersive movie and feel as if you are a part of the movie.

The person in the image is in the VR. Basically, you need to purchase/rent a headset. You put the headset on your head and you start it on. Then an operating system will open and you also have 2 controllers that you hold in your hand. You can then choose what you wish to use the virtual reality gear for.
You will need space to move around, to look around and interact with objects from that world. Just as Julia said, it is a simulation and sometimes, it can feel very real. It's fun but it can be used for a lot of things. Most of us are eager to see the first horror movies made in VR. They will be so scarry to watch.

Hi Colton! The VR is an immersive simulation that you can only enter by using gear that is designed for this purpose. The VR headset is just one example of gear that you can use. The technology is still developing and many people still do not know what VR is so you don't have to worry about this. The experience is immersive and some people love it. I once experienced jumping with a parachute in VR, something that I never did in real life. It was a very good and fun experience!

Thank you for explaining to me what VR is and for providing me with examples! I am still learning about this new technology and your replies have been very helpful! Thank you once again!
