Our website, http://www.BetterFlicks.com ask, "What do you want to see in movies?" By "you", we mean all of us - as we all love movies. We compile, and post responses - telling filmmakers what the viewing public (of which we are all members) want to see.
We have an extensive "Resources" page.
In the future, we hope to be able to provide discounts to movie ticket prices, concession items, and DVD/Blu-Ray purchases.
We also have a Forum.
I hope you visit, and visit often, as well as tell your friends and colleagues about us.
Thank you, and happy filmmaking.

We're working on discounts. Exhibitors earn the most money on concession items and pre-feature advertising. It would be more realistic to see a discount in ticket prices. The average price for a movie ticket in the US is - believe it or not - $7.75 or so. Now in NYC, it's $14. In 1999 or so, I met a woman from London who told me the cost in London was 10 quid - something like $14, 13 years before it reached that price in NYC!

Which is why I started BetterFlicks.com a few years ago to provide resources to writers, actors, directors, and producers. I have since added the opinion poll with respect to content. Independent filmmakers might use the results to try and obtain some commercial success from their projects - perhaps make a commercial film that will generate enough revenue to make what they truly want to make. I know that if only one film can be funded by an independent filmmaker, they are going to make their dream film, and not care about commercial viability. In my small way, I am trying to create more work for everyone, and make it easier for everyone to make films.

If I were to post just a portion of my life story, everyone who'd read it would send me money. I am a cancer survivor, and a combat veteran - and that's just the basic introduction I give people.
It is my hope to be able to inform everyone from the first-time screenwriter to the mighty studios what people want to see in movies. No longer would it just be a guessing game, no longer would everyone have to endure a "flop" to see if a particular genre (all other things being equal) is viable.
I want to improve the quality of motion pictures. I want to make it easier to make them. If I can create more work, and have more types of movies made, I would be tickled pink. I go see a movie a week. Easily 85% of what I see are indi features.
I have a six-point revenue model for BetterFlicks.com. I am busting my butt to get its name out there, and to generate interest in every aspect of the endeavor: traffic and responses, discounts, processing the data, compiling the data in a way that is valuable to individuals and entities.
Is it my ultimate dream to run an information company? Well, I'll do it if I can do the most good in that capacity. What I truly am, is a filmmaker, and actor. If I could sell the site, or perhaps own just a small portion of it by selling it to the right party - not just for the most money - I'd be happy.

If I were to sell all or part of BetterFlicks.com, I would help my family. They have suffered much, too. My 83 year-old mother would get the royal treatment she so deserves.
I couldn't possibly write a screenplay about my life. No one would find it in the slightest way credible. We all have different abilities to cope. Some people fall to pieces over the slightest things, other people can endure the unthinkable and find a way to move on, and even thrive.
I'm 48. I'm tired. I want more financial security, and be able to think about taking care of my family, making films, and enjoying myself. I would help others too, by donating my time and money.
