I guess the most obvious differences with film are that you're recording seperate sound, which you need to sync up, and that you need to be able to take your finished edit and then go back to the negative to cut the film from it (which basically means keeping track of the timecode on the telecine tapes, since the negative cutter can work from that to figure out where to cut the film).
