2K for a day if that is correct is better than spending 80K for one that will be outdated next year, right? and, I think you mean an HD camera packaged, right? What do you get for 2K rental?

I just worked a shoot for a students senior thesis... he was shooting on a Red One, and that along with lenses and storage (which is the catch) he was pushing $2,000 a day. But that is top end - along with the likes of the Sony HDW-F900 series, or Viper Filmstream. Not to mention, he is printing to 35mm afterwards.

so i guessed about right at 2K? I have heard that the RED ONE is having some problems with shutting down for certain kinds of shooting.
