The Creative process, here's how.

OK, so I have been trained in the creative process at art school.
I figure it can be applied to any situation.
Even film making.
So this is how I do it, be interesting to see how it compares to other people's way of working.

First I roll the idea around in my head for half an hour.
I know I am doing just one scene...so...
I write out (in words) the very basic plot.
Mr X does this, with this, at this place and this happens.
Then I draw stick figure story boards...just capturing the story.
Then I read it back to see if the story is there.
Then I run a logical filter over it, asking myself what facts are the viewers picking up as they pass through.
Then I run an emotional filter over it, asking myself what sensations and feelings are the viewers picking up as they pass through.
Then I put notes over the storyboards ... to refine the viewers journey.
Then I redraw all the storyboards still in stick figures with alterations ...and repeat the process adding detail as I go
I might repeat these steps as many as ten times in order to get it right.

After that, I try it out by scanning all the frames into an editing application.
That lets me know if the thing is working.
Then I just have to shoot live footage to match my anamatic.
If any thing interesting happens on the shoot, I might keep it in,
even though it's not in the anamatic.

How does this compare with your process???
