special effects startup. Need quick and desperate help!

Hey, im a freshman in college in nj, starting to study computer science, i have been thinking recently its not for me. I am really interested in special effects and make up and was wondering how do i get started? Can somebody recomend some good books or something? Also, is it too late to get started on something like this, i havnt taken any art classes since 8th grade.

Its never too late to do what you want. Im in a school dedicated to special effects. Trust me, do tutorials online get programs such as after effects. No books required. just do tutorials online. there is tons of them. Do that and if you decide its for you then major in visual effects and motion graphics like me! 8)
