Sony Z1P vs PD170 - capture with Canopus edit with Premiere

I don't need HD but can hire one for the same price as a sony PD170 are there issues with capturing and editing or would I be better off sticking with SD... thanks new to forum 2day howdy everyone

Use the Z1. Even if you don't use the HD footage you can just tell the camera to downconvert for DV output, and you'll get an HD master tape you can go back to one day plus a true 16:9 image.

However, you will get a better picture by editing as HD and then downconverting to SD in post than you will by using the internal conversion, and obviously you'll need to rent the Z1 long enough to capture the footage into your computer.
