Shooting dialogue with an Arri S

Hey all,

I would like to shoot a film that is dialogue dependent, and I have an Arri S to work with. Aside from the camera noise problem (I am shooting outdoors so i can use wildtrack street noise to cover it up) I have been told that the variable speed motor will begin to slow down after 30 seconds or so. I do not mind shortening my shots if I can get the sync sound to work. (speaking of, any suggestions for mixers? I can probably get a PD-4 if there isn't an easier option.) I have also been told that the AC could ride the motor to keep it at 24. Have I been given correct information? Any thoughts on how I could manage this?
