We all hear about million dollar spec sales, but most working writers make a living with assignments and rewrites. So what does it really take to break in to Hollywood these days? During this session, CineStory alums will share their ‘breaking in’ stories and offer practical advice for turning writing into a career. Get the scoop from those in the trenches who have made the leap from aspiring to working writer.
Webinars last 60 minutes and allow for q&a from participants. Webinars can be attended live or listened to via recording at a later time.

BRYAN DICK began his career as an executive assistant at Rat Entertainment, Brett Ratner's production company. This led to his first writing assignment as the story editor for MTV's reality show Fear. Later, he moved on to work under Academy Award-winning producer Brian Grazer at Imagine Entertainment. In 2011, Bryan attended the Cinestory Retreat which helped him land his first writing assignment with Mar Vista Entertainment. Gone Missing is set to air in Summer 2013. In January 2013, Mar Vista hired Bryan for a second assignment and this summer, Bryan's original screenplay Lion's Den is set to be shot in Canada.
RITA AUGUSTINE received her M.F.A. in Screenwriting from UCLA. Since graduating she's been hired for projects in various countries including Germany, France, Hungary, Canada, Taiwan, and China. She's also worked on projects with major Hollywood producers, studio execs, agents, and managers. She did a late-stage rewrite on KING OF FIGHTERS, a feature-film adaptation of the videogame, which went into production in Vancouver with Hong-Kong action director Gordon Chan.
CineStory is a Los Angeles based nonprofit dedicated to mentoring screenwriters.
